IGOR CAVALERA Says CAVALERA CONSPIRACY Tours Are 'Just An Excuse For Me And MAX To Hang Out'
June 16, 2015TBFM conducted an interview with Igor Cavalera (CAVALERA CONSPIRACY, SEPULTURA) at the 2015 edition of the U.K.'s Download festival, which was held last weekend in Donington Park. You can now watch the chat below.
Asked what the fan reaction at concerts has been like to the songs on CAVALERA CONSPIRACY's third album, last year's "Pandemonium", Igor said: "It's great. It's very cool, now, to tour with the record. The album's been out for almost a year; it's time enough for kids to get used to the new songs. So it's better. Sometimes, like, when it's too early, you almost feel like they don't know enough about the record. So now it's a good time to do a run."
Igor also talked about the CAVALERA CONSPIRACY touring life and how it affects his relationship with his brother Max, who plays guitar and sings for the band. "At the end, I think it's just an excuse for me and Max to hang out," he said. "We have our family here — like, our kids and stuff — and then we play music eventually. But the most important thing is just to be together here hanging out. For me, that's what the formula of success [is]: doing what you love with people that you love. That's it. All the other stuff doesn't really matter."
"Pandemonium" sold around 2,600 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 177 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was produced by John Gray, who previously worked with SOULFLY.
